Vocollect, Inc., a world leader in Voice-Directed Work, has announced that Gary Glessner has been appointed Vice President and Managing Director of European Operations. Glessner, formerly Director of Business Development at Vocollect in North America for six years, succeeds Greg Tanner.
Glessner's appointment comes at a time of continued growth as the company expands its presence in new geographic markets, including the Middle East and Russia. He will build upon the leading position Vocollect has established in recent years within the region, which includes a current user base of over 70,000 and the addition of over 250 new customers in Europe during the past year alone.
Glessner holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and undergraduate degrees in Engineering and Economics from Swarthmore College. His career spans 25 years of progressive experience in sales and general management roles in a variety of technology companies including Hewlett Packard and General Electric. In his previous position at Vocollect, Glessner was responsible for managing relationships with some of the largest North American-based partners who helped fuel Vocollect's growth from $30 million to over $110 million today.
Roger Byford, Vocollect's Chairman and CEO, said, "Gary brings a strong background of technology industry sales and general management to this role and has all the qualities required to drive our EMEA business to the next level of growth as part of its contribution to Vocollect's global expansion."
