Schneider to upgrade its UK distribution centre in Telford to the latest cWMS Warehouse Management System

CDC Software, a wholly owned subsidiary of CDC Corporation and a provider of industry-specific enterprise software and services, is helping Schneider to revamp its UK distribution centre by upgrading to the latest version of cWMS, one of the warehouse management systems that form the CDC Supply Chain suite of supply chain solutions. The new system will allow Schneider to continue to expand its logistics operations, increase productivity and lower costs at its Telford site.

With more than 2,200 people and sales of more than 330 million Schneider is the leading supplier of electrical distribution and automation control products and services in the U.K. and has rapidly expanded its logistics operations over the past 10 years.  Since first implementing an earlier version of cWMS in 1998, the company has made significant cost savings, while at the same time increasing productivity.

Andrew Holdroyd, logistics projects manager commented, We needed to upgrade our warehouse functionality and systems to support our growing business volume and new distribution service in a multi-brand environment. We considered several possibilities and decided that upgrading with cWMS was our best option.

Per Norling, president of CDC Supply Chain said, We are always very pleased and proud when clients who have used us previously come back to us when their business needs change as a result of growth or change.  It is a testament to our products, services and support.
