New post critical to building brand in Asia-Pacific and to strengthening company's market position in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA)
Supply chain solutions provider, Manhattan Associates, Inc., has appointed John Bird to the position of director, international communications strategy. The role will include responsibility for all public relations activities in EMEA and the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Bird's core focus will be the formulation of the company's communications strategy and leading a cross-functional team to maximise the company's communications effectiveness in both established and recently entered markets.
Mr. Bird joined Manhattan Associates in December 2001. In his previous role with the company as communications manager, Mr Bird spearheaded Manhattan Associates' European and subsequently EMEA-wide public relations programme. With a background in the supply chain industry that spans 18 years and several companies including TNT and TDG as well as Qiva before its acquisition by Tradebeam, Mr. Bird is well positioned to promote the company's credentials in being able to help manufacturers, distributors, logistics services providers and retailers to optimise supply chain performance.
"John Bird has played a critical role in building Manhattan Associates' presence in EMEA over the last six years by establishing solid relationships with the media, analysts, partners and clients," said Terrie O'Hanlon, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Manhattan Associates. "John has the right blend of strategy development capabilities and industry expertise to make a great success of this newly created position and we have every confidence that this appointment will strengthen our presence in EMEA and help build the reputation of the company in the Asia Pacific region."
