Danish medical equipment supplier signs agreement with IBS

Kirudan, with headquarters in Brndby, Denmark, has decided to implement IBS Enterprise software.

Kirudan has an annual turnover of DKK 400 million (EUR 54 million) and is one of the leading trading companies in Denmark, supplying medical devices to the health care industry. Kirudan offers some 8,000 products to customers such as hospitals, physicians, specialists, purchasers, homecare nurses and private clients.

Kirudan is part of the OPG Group, an international retail and distribution company of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. OPG is listed on Euronext Amsterdam, with headquarters in the Netherlands and operations in seven other European countries.

We were looking for a standardized, modern and fully integrated ERP system that was able to handle the specific requirements of the medical device industry. An important reason for the choice of supplier was IBS ability to deliver a total solution including ERP software, professional services and hardware, says Jan Albrechtsen, CFO at Kirudan.

The new agreement covers installation of ERP software for 125 users with most IBS Enterprise modules including financial software, logistics software and manufacturing software along with a range of inventory planning tools for the optimization of Kirudans operations.

With the new ERP system, Kirudan stands to gain benefits from reduced administrative and inventory costs, and in parallel increase both internal and external efficiency, thereby leading to positive effects on customer satisfaction. The fact that IBS also provides a true industry-specific solution for companies distributing pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to pharmacies one of the OPG Groups other business areas - highlights an even larger perspective for a long-term cooperation.
