SYSPRO CRMs track and trace Warranty and Service feature was a key reason for leading axle and distribution company, BPW Limited to select a SYSPRO ERP system from K3 Business Technology Group (K3).

Leicester-based BPW required a solution that would allow them to serial track the sale and distribution of axles to trailer builders and to trace serial numbers and details of end user operators of those trailers. BPW stocks over 800 axles and a comprehensive supply of spare parts is distributed throughout the UK and Ireland from a 36,000 sq ft warehouse.

As Steve Turton, Management Accountant for BPW, commented: Stock control is crucial to our business, as is identifying what type of axle each end user is operating for repair and replacement purposes. We need to provide that information to whoever is going to service or repair any trailer fitted with our axle.

He added: Because our old software was no longer supported and it wasnt integrated with our main accounts package, it became apparent that any ERP system we chose would have to have a strong warranty and service package to suit our requirements. The functionality offered by SYSPRO was the best solution of the six systems we evaluated.

SYSPROs Customer Relationship System (CRM) module lets users track and manage all track points from vendor relationships, to service issues, product returns and warranty repair histories providing a 360 view of internal and external business relationships.

The system is fully live and is benefiting BPW with the administration time savings of having a fully integrated system. Plus, they can bar code every single axle that leaves their premises, knowing that information is automatically fed through to the warranty and service application of the CRM system.
