Space Kitchens the UK's leading kitchen manufacturer and installer, has commissioned K3, a leading UK provider of Microsoft Dynamics, to create a Microsoft-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to support its call centre and marketing department.
The new system from K3 will help to capture data and keep a record of every contact point made with potential customers. It will also allow Space Kitchens to build up a history of not only the householder, but also the property itself, for example as properties change hands, the new owner may want to replace the kitchen (where the previous owner might not have wished to do so). This profile of individuals and property gives the company the ability to branch out into other products.
Space Kitchens has successfully run its business for the past twenty years using telecanvassing. However there are stringent regulations coming through for marketing of this nature, so the company needed a more substantial way to support their database and maintain their customer outreach.
Another challenge faced by the business is that with more and more households opting for telephone preference services, (over 60% of UK phone numbers are now registered with the service*) it is business critical for the company to have another route to market, so they have decided to branch into personalised mailings.
Space Kitchens choose K3 after speaking to a number of CRM suppliers. They were impressed by K3s speedy and efficient response to their requirements, and their in-depth understanding of the product.

The project will go live in mid-December, ready for the peak January period. Currently staff are being trained on the system, and the database is being formatted. The benefits of the system will kick in during the key New Year period, with telephone and direct mail marketing. The CRM system will flag up customer preference in terms of receiving telephone calls or direct mail, for example some people opt to receive mail and not letters and vice versa. It is of vital importance that Space Kitchens has this information as there is strict government legislation surrounding data management and the new system with ensure that Space Kitchens are able to stick to the legislation.
