BlueStar, a leading innovator in solutions-based distribution for Auto ID, Point-of-Sale, Mobility and RFID products, has announced it is distributing the new MS9590 VoyagerGS linear bar code scanner from Metrologic Instruments.
The MS9590 VoyagerGS is a hand-held, single-line laser scanner for scanning general purpose bar code applications like those commonly found in retail, healthcare, government, and office environments. It features an optional Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) antenna for deactivating security tags and decoding bar codes simultaneously.
The VoyagerGS fills a void in Metrologics hand-held scanner offerings, says Andrew Wey, CEO of Quad GmbH, a leading German business partner. The proven success of the Voyager brand in a new gun-shaped form factor will allow us to rationalize our product line and deliver bar code scanning solutions from a single global supplier.
The VoyagerGS features a 25% faster scanning speed and a working range thats 50% longer. These improved features will enable retailers to improve customer throughput at the Point-of-Sale, while increasing customer satisfaction , says Mark Fraker, BlueStars VP of Marketing.
