Uplanit enters DBO's orbit

Rotherham software specialist, IMS, has forged links with DBO Services, to offer manufacturing companies a complete stock control and scheduling solution.

IMS is bringing together its innovative Uplanit software with RightStock, the flagship product from fellow manufacturing systems expert, Surrey-based DBO.

Both companies will be offering the two products as a complete package or individually, to provide manufacturing businesses with a broader choice of stock control and work scheduling software.

RightStock uses historical information and market intelligence to forecast the amount of stock a company needs to achieve a desired level of customer satisfaction. It then generates a 'replenishment plan' that can be passed onto Uplanit, which will find the most time and cost-effective method of production to optimise supply and demand.

David Hurst, IMS' sales director, said: "We are excited to be joining forces with DBO and we are looking forward to offering new and existing customers an enhanced IT solution to common manufacturing problems. Both software packages are proven to offer real benefits to users and they will work together perfectly to further increase their commercial capabilities."

Tony McEvoy from DBO Services, added: "This two-way relationship between IMS and DBO means our customers have access to twice the technical expertise and IT support at their fingertips. We hope to build on our relationship to refine and develop RightStock and Uplanit, to continue to improve their compatibility, competitiveness and relevance to the manufacturing sector."
