Short term contracts and seasonal supplies require flexible systems that reflect the nature of their operation.
tmWare has addressed this flexibility shortfall with an On Demand system that can be switched on and off to service the contract. Hosted from a server in Londons Docklands, a new warehouse set up can be up and running within a few days, requiring just an internet connection to enable system access. Traditionally there would be a need to migrate servers and infrastructure to the new site in order to get the system set up, but with On Demand, you simply plug in and go.
Seasonal retail suppliers have already embraced the flexibility of tmWare. Presentation Products of Arbroath and H&A Prestige Packaging are both suppliers of seasonal giftware to Marks and Spencer and used tmWare for Christmas Peak, Valentines Day, Mothers Day, Easter and Fathers day. They are now in the quite period before picking up the system again to start for the Christmas peak in September. Previous systems have required specific hardware to run and therefore companies like these have had terminals cluttering their office space which are only used for 6 months of the year. tmWare has given them the versatility to have access only when they need it, from their existing desktop PC, via the internet, without the hassle of maintaining a full time system on an in house server. Some find that the facility to log in from home saves time and worry at the office.
There are many other operations around the country who will benefit from short term system requirements without the hardware commitment. The very nature of todays Logistics industry is customer driven and therefore price and service are imperative to winning business. Not only can tmWare address the cost issue with pay as you go solutions, but the customer service aspect is extensively catered for. Reports and enquiries are easily accessed and distributed by users or customers. Customers can view only their own stock levels with a restricted access login.
