Infor has announced that Ulrich Alber GmbH, a specialist for portable, versatile and easy to use medical mobility aids, has gone live on Infor SRM SupplyWEB.

The web-based supplier relationship management (SRM) solution helps Alber to visualise the current stock of materials and to introduce dynamic vendor managed inventory in order to optimise replenishment, decrease stock of inventory and cut process management costs at both the manufacturers and suppliers end.

Alber chose Infor for its industry-leading solution with experience built in.  Designed for complex supplier relationship requirements, SupplyWEB provides Alber with business-specific functionality to streamline interaction with suppliers.

The manufacturer, a company of Invacare Corp., the worldwide market leader in the field of non-acute health care equipment, is now able to handle all communication with suppliers online, providing all parties with accurate, up-to-date information on inventory and demand.  Thus, SupplyWEB enables dynamic vendor managed inventory.  Before inventory in stock hits a certain bottom limit, Alber and its suppliers are notified by SupplyWEB.  The management dashboards provide all necessary information about adequate supplies needed, ensuring constant availability of all necessary goods while optimising inventory.  Bottom and topmost inventory limits are automatically controlled, helping to align inventory with changing market demands and decreasing warehousing cost.

Choosing SupplyWEB was a smart move. We eliminated all costly manual processes in procurement and supplier relationship management, including order and delivery management as well as packing list, receipt and barcode label creation on the supplier side, said Ralf Ledda, General Manager at Alber. With SupplyWEB, we laid the foundation for further process optimisation, for example introducing RFID-based identification of inventory.

Alber is a showcase example of the enterprising companies we target, said Infor Vice President Sales Automotive D A CH, Bernd Hau.  Infor SRM SupplyWEB is built for large corporations as well as for their divisions. Alber chose Infor because the company needs business-specific solutions with industry experience built in -- not because of its size. They understand that we are committed to continuously enhance and enrich our customers investments in technology and to deliver innovative solutions that evolve based on customer demand.

Infors Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) solutions improve profitability by improving the efficiency of sourcing and inventory management processes. SupplyWEB accelerates the users response to complex, rapidly changing global supply chains through faster access to supplier data. This real-time, online access to supply and shipping resources delivers critical information faster, so companies can reduce overhead by maintaining reduced raw material and component inventory. It also provides flexible planning tools that fully support pull sourcing and lean supply chain initiatives.
