ShipServ's new integrated logistics move immediately finds customers

Shortly after launching its integrated solution for logistics companies, ShipServ has signed agreements with three of the leading providers of maritime spare parts logistics: MarineTrans, DSV, and Schenker.

By integrating their systems to TradeNet, logistics providers will be able to receive purchase order information from shipping companies and suppliers directly into their track and trace systems. This optimizes the flow of procurement data between all parties to a transaction.

ShipServ expects these three to be the first of many who will be attracted by the prospect of a growing market, currently requiring the movement of 200,000 orders annually. The attraction is made richer by the fact that the order data can immediately be transmitted electronically from ship owners/managers and suppliers.

Mr. Thomas Hostrup, Sales & Marketing Manager, DSV explains: "We are happy to be part of the strong network that exists between shipping companies and suppliers on TradeNet and look forward to serve our customers using the system even better. Moving data directly into our order management system eliminates manual re-typing and reduce unnecessary communication with vendors located world wide thereby enabling DSV to focus and expand the customer service towards this industry".

ShipServ's wide industry experience has enabled it to build a new solution which offers logistics companies and freight forwarders in the marine supply business the efficiency gains that ship owners/managers and their suppliers experience when trading electronically via ShipServ's e-marketplace, TradeNet.

To facilitate this flow of information ShipServ has developed a new Logistics Module for shipping companies, which in one step distributes procurement data to supplier and logistics provider, who no longer will receive unexpected delivery requirements.

This new module called ShipServ OneStep-LogisticsTM allows shipping companies to automatically direct data to their freight forwarder at the very same moment the transaction is sent to the supplier via ShipServ TradeNet. The action is handled in one step and triggered through TradeNet by the shipping company's purchasing system. This eliminates the need for phone calls, faxes or emails to inform the logistics provider about order details.

In addition, when the supplier issues an order confirmation, data is automatically distributed via ShipServ TradeNet to the freight forwarder.

ShipServ OneStep-Logistics works with all major purchasing systems, i.e. Spectec AMOS, ShipNet, BASS, ABS-NS, Logimatic ePos, Consultas, CL-Sea, Ulysses Systems, Danaos, and other.
