More than 5,000 Manufacturers Chose Infor ERP SyteLine to Streamline Business Processes and Reduce Costs
Infor has announced that more than 1,000 customers have upgraded to the latest version of Infor ERP SyteLine since its launch late last year, bringing the total number of discrete manufacturers using SyteLine to more than 5,000 worldwide. SyteLine offers the combined benefit of business-specific functionality backed by the global scale and stability of a strategic partner such as Infor.
Infor has recently signed an additional 120 new companies such as Truck Bodies and Equipment International, Inc., Tutco, Inc. and Schenck AccurRate. These companies and others have chosen SyteLine for its inherent functionality that helps manufacturers drive out redundancies, reduce costs, optimise business processes, and enhance operational efficiency across the entire enterprise.
Growing demand for SyteLine is due in part to a trend in the manufacturing industry of companies expanding into emerging countries, such as China, India and Eastern Europe, and in support of corporate initiatives such as lean manufacturing. SyteLines ability to provide a comprehensive worldwide view of the business operations enables companies to more effectively source raw materials and service customers in previously untapped markets, while eliminating waste and reducing operating expenses.
Global competition and pricing pressures place an extraordinary demand on today's manufacturers to strive for new levels of efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness, said Mike Frichol, Infors vice president of global industry and product marketing. According to industry experts, globalisation and lean manufacturing are the most important business issues manufacturers plan to address with their ERP investment. In a recent AMR report, Enterprise Resource Planning Spending Report, 2006-2007, 20 percent of respondents said that they will allocate the majority of their IT spend this year to enhancing the software that drives their manufacturing operations.
In particular, Infor has experienced increased demand for SyteLine from manufacturers in industries such as shipbuilding, aerospace and industrial equipment and machinery.
