Leading Public Sector Applications Company to Join Infor

Infor intends to acquire Hansen Information Technologies, a leading applications provider for the public sector.

The acquisition of Hansen will strengthen Infors ability to serve the growing public sector, specifically local government and municipal authorities. The combination of Hansen and Infors existing government solutions will establish Infor as a leading provider of enterprise applications that serve the specialised needs of government entities. Upon the closing of the transaction, Infor will offer a compelling combination of Human Capital Management, Revenue Management, and Enterprise Asset Management to municipalities of all sizes.

Infors strategy is to address markets where customers want solutions with functionality and expertise specific to their needs, rather than the generic products of the large horizontal software providers, said Jim Schaper, chairman and CEO of Infor. Hansen provides software that is built for the unique needs of state and local government.  Following the close of this transaction, Infor will provide a complete offering of government-specific solutions from a vendor that has the size and scale to be a long-term strategic partner.

Hansen's applications help manage the daily operations of government, and include the industry's leading applications for Building Permits, Licensing, Code Enforcement, Citizen Relationship Management, Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Transit and Rail, Financials, Property Tax, and Utility Billing. Hansen 8, the companys flagship product, is an integrated web-based suite of these applications.

I am impressed by Infors track record of investing in the solutions they acquire and the value they place on the people who create and support those solutions, said Chuck Hansen, chairman and CEO of Hansen. For our users, this means that they can expect continued high levels of support as well as a renewed commitment to the evolution of their products.

Infor is well positioned to increase market share with Hansen in both large and small municipalities as they address key initiatives, like managing large staffs of shift-based and hourly employees through Workforce Management; revenue recognition through effective Performance Management, Permitting and Utility Billing; and reducing budget shortfalls through better asset maintenance via Enterprise Asset Management.

Hansen has 470 customers globally and serves government entities in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and the U.K., all markets where Infor has a substantial presence. Infors scale, global reach and significant professional services organization can help scale Hansen installations and services business in all key markets. Solutions overlap is minimal, and Infor will continue its strategy of delivering specific solutions to customers on the platform of their choice. Hansens modern product architecture supports interoperability within the broader Infor portfolio through Infor Open SOA.  The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.
