Senior VP of Supply Chain Solutions continues worldwide adoption of OAGi standard

Nigel Davies of Catalyst International, global provider of supply chain execution (SCE) software and solutions, has been elected Chairman of the Open Applications Group, Inc., (OAGi) for the third consecutive year, and will continue to be actively involved in the worldwide adoption of the OAGi standard.

OAGi, an open standards organisation, formed in 1994, focuses on improving the state of application integration. Its unique, technology-neutral approach ensures that both end-users and solution providers have the most robust XML standard that can be deployed using ebXML, Web Services, or the framework of their choice.  Along with Davies, representatives from Oracle, SAP and IBM serve on the OAGi board, while key members include Cisco, Lucent Technologies, Boeing, and Agilent Technologies.  Global automotive manufacturers like General Motors and Ford are also active in specialised automotive groups, including Automotive Industry Action Group, (AIAG) and Standards for Technology in Automotive Retail, (STAR).

As an active participant on our Executive Committee over the last several years, Nigel made invaluable contributions to our standards development, especially in regard to supply chain execution, said David Connelly, President and CEO of OAGi. We are pleased he has agreed to serve for a third year as OAGi Board Chairman and I look forward to working with him. His experience, leadership, strategic perspective and practical insights will greatly benefit us during these important times.

A key strength of Catalysts OAGi-based architecture is the inherent ability to support the evolution of its SCE solution integration between host systems, by allowing the support of multiple host configurations and associated mappings, in a heterogeneous environment.  Additionally, this single integration approach allows the interoperability between the various point solutions in the Catalyst SCE software suite, rendering the Catalyst Software Suite a truly integrated software construction.

Catalyst has used Davies experience with the OAGi Standard to create one of the industrys most flexible and open Supply Chain Execution environments said Michael Eleftheriou, President and CEO of Catalyst International, Inc.  Catalyst has successfully implemented its SCE environment architected around the OAGi standard, at several of its accounts, and several others are in the process of implementation.
