Companies plan joint marketing of Enterprise Security Management solution GOVERNOR

Beta Systems Software AG (Prime Standard: BSS), a provider of high-quality software products and solutions for secure and efficient identity management (IdM), and the IT service provider Lufthansa Systems, has announced it has signed a cooperation contract to jointly market the security management solution GOVERNOR. The objective of the agreement is to expand the customer base of the GOVERNOR solution, which is developed by Lufthansa Systems. GOVERNOR is an enterprise security management solution that delivers a complete service for user administration and for the granting and verification of access permissions for users of IT resources. The core of the solution is based on SAM Jupiter, Beta Systems' packaged identity management solution.

Since 2001, the German airline Lufthansa has been using the GOVERNOR
solution across most of the enterprise for the administration of its user
accounts. Today, GOVERNOR manages around 150,000 enterprise user IDs.
Lufthansa Systems is expanding the core functionality of the security
management solution to include hosting it in its own data centre and full
application service provision. This will enable the software provider and
the IT service company to jointly deliver an expanded service to their
customers.

With its solid technological expertise and many years' experience of the
airline and aviation industry, Lufthansa Systems has gradually extended its
portfolio of services to span a range of different industries. It markets
these services to enterprises which, like Lufthansa, have stringent quality
and data security requirements. As it is tailored to each customer's
individual requirements, GOVERNOR can be implemented in any industry. Both
companies are also targeting the airline sector with the GOVERNOR solution,
initially focusing on Lufthansa's Star Alliance partners.

Using GOVERNOR, companies can efficiently and cost-effectively manage user
administration while ensuring regulatory compliance. The solution includes
powerful provisioning functions while being highly scalable and easy to
integrate into existing IT environments. GOVERNOR's main functions include
pooling all user and corporate data collected from different sources,
processing them, and forwarding them to the relevant target systems.

Beta Systems and Lufthansa Systems will manage projects jointly, ranging
from analyses of potential and of requirements through to realization,
implementation, and successful operation. "We're very pleased to be working
with Lufthansa Systems on the GOVERNOR solution," notes Kamyar Niroumand,
CEO of Beta Systems Software AG. "Their choice of SAM Jupiter as GOVERNOR's
core solution confirms once again our expertise and knowledge of the
identity management market."

Lufthansa Systems is one of the leading IT service providers for the airline
and aviation industries worldwide. As systems integrator, the wholly-owned
subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group covers the entire range of IT services,
including consulting, development, implementation and operation. Lufthansa
Systems provides its IT infrastructure and operations services to a variety
of industries. Headquartered in Kelsterbach near Frankfurt/Main, Germany,
the company has branches in Germany and 17 countries and employs about 4,550
people worldwide. In business year 2005, Lufthansa Systems recorded sales of
EUR 635 million.
