Junction Solutions, the $27 million turnover Chicago-based IT company, has opened its first European office in Sheffield from where it intends to develop a European customer base.

Launching in Europe with a team of five, Junction Solutions plans to develop the Sheffield office to be the companys European support and development centre and HQ for marketing into Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

It is planned that the Sheffield office will employ around 30 people by the end of 2007.

Mark Thackeray (pictured), Junction Solutions general manager in the UK, says:  We have ambitious plans, but Junction Solutions itself was only founded in 2003 and has grown quickly to employ over 140 people and reach a $27 million turnover.

Sheffield is the best location for our European business because of the availability of leading edge IT experts.  As the Number One Microsoft Dynamic Partner in the US, we are well placed to attract the right people to help us build a substantial European user-base.

We are looking for experienced customer consultants as well as highly-skilled IT developers for the systems we provide to manufacturers, food and drink makers, mail order companies and retail outlets.

We are working with Sheffield First for Investments JobMatch service to seek out the right people.

In particular we are keen to develop our own systems here for SMEs in the European market.

James Wilson, Investment Manager from Sheffield First for Investment says:  Sheffields ability to attract companies such as Junction Solutions demonstrates how having the right skills, high standard office accommodation and access to research facilities at the two Universities are vital in developing the citys high value economy.
