PAXAR LAUNCHES UNIQUE MANAGED SERVICE SOLUTION TO GLOBAL LABELLING COMPLIANCE

Paxar EMEA, part of Paxar Corporation, the world's leading provider of fully integrated and innovative labelling, merchandising and identification solutions for retailers and apparel manufacturers is pleased to announce the launch of a managed service solution to global labelling compliance - PaxarComplyline an online managed service providing bespoke label formats and hardware packages with RFID capability.

Complyline has been uniquely designed to address one of the main challenges in todays globalised supply chain. As retailers, importers and manufacturers increasingly use suppliers from around the world a common issue is compliance, or moreover, lack of labelling compliance within the supply chain. A retailer / manufacturer can have hundreds of suppliers each using their own barcodes, this in turn leads to inefficiencies and increased costs as the retailer must allocate human resources to manage stock as it is received. The problem is there is no one solution to all compliance needs; different companies will always have different requirements. A leading UK retailer attributes losses of over 50M per year due to poor supplier compliance labelling.

Paxar recognises these differences in requirements and has launched Complyline, a managed online service and essential foundation for improving supply chain efficiencies. Complyline is managed for individual companies with supplier networks consisting of at least two and up to hundreds of suppliers so each one is provided with the latest label required for their customer. Using Complyline a customer can eliminate the requirement for issuing label mandates to its suppliers.

Complyline has a proactive change notification system in place. When a customer informs Paxar of any labelling changes, Paxar makes the changes and, once approved by the retailer, Paxar Complyline then automatically distributes the latest formats and corresponding notification to suppliers ensuring the supplier has the most up to date label format available.

With Complyline suppliers can be certain they are in full compliance with customer requirements and will in turn benefit from:

        No returns;

        No penalty charges;

        No long and unnecessary payment delays;

        100% compliance accuracy; and

        Reduced operator knowledge requirements.

Customers (Retailers / Manufacturers) can expect to benefit from:

        A Reduction in Reworking less sorting and processing improves stock availability and efficiently uses available space;

        Accuracy data integrity and consistency from all suppliers using Complyline;

        Quick Response Global Co-ordination easy to deploy and implement;

        Reliability minimal operator training if switching suppliers; and

        Traceability/ Accountability additional traceability data for a comprehensive product history.

Paxar will offer Complyline both as a standard managed service or part of a complete package whereby a supplier is supplied with barcode printers and printer applicators as well as access to the Complyline service. All hardware supplied as part of the package will be RFID ready ensuring a seamless upgrade when the retailer makes the transition to the new technology. Being RFID ready removes the need for new RFID mandates, additional supplier education, new printers, new media and new label design and will greatly minimise system downtime during any upgrade to RFID.

Max Tatford, Marketing Manager at Paxar commented: Were delighted to be launching Complyline to address the lack of compliance in todays ever-globalising supply chain. Paxar is confident that this unique service solution will greatly benefit retailers, manufacturers and suppliers. It will ensure all labels are 100% accurate and up to date, as well as providing a platform for sophisticated global track and trace. An added bonus is that all Complyline hardware supplied as part of the package will be RFID ready ensuring a painless transition to the new technology.
