A commitment to customer satisfaction and inward investment has led to Innovate Logistics achieving delivery performance in excess of 99.5% per cent.

Establishing a central customer service team along with the implementation of a vehicle management system has been the key to its success. This proactive, coordinated approach works to pre-empt any possible delays in the supply chain by closely overseeing fleet activity, monitoring delivery progress and report performance daily. This has paid off Innovate has been able to work smarter and more responsively than ever, despite a growing customer base which now extends from Cornwall to Aberdeen.

The Innovate fleet consists of 255 units, 350 temperature controlled trailers and 10 double deck trailers. All are fitted with the Dynafleet in-cab technology providing ongoing communication between the driver and the customer service team. It enables operators to pinpoint drivers exact position, check capacity and plan the most efficient routes, maximising fleet utilisation and avoiding empty running time. As Britains roads become increasingly congested, this is a major boost to time savings and meeting ever changing customer demand.

Innovate Logistics managing director, Pete Osborne, explained: The ability to monitor and analyse factors such as fuel usage, speed, distance and arrival and departure times, enables us to accurately assess our performance delivery in detail. As the majority of our fleet are Volvos, it made sense to go with the fully integrated, manufacturer installed product.

We have acquired a number of businesses recently which achieve our growth strategy. During that time we have never lost sight of the fact that service has to be our number one priority. Our aim has been to tighten systems where necessary and provide the most flexible and responsive service to our customers. Putting the systems in place to make us a more streamlined, effective link in the supply chain is integral to that equation and Dynafleet has been a tremendous tool toward that objective.

Innovate Logistics has logistics centres in Birmingham, Chesterfield, Newark, Scunthorpe, Westbury, Worksop, Bristol and Nottingham, the home of the corporate headquarters, and transport bases in Leeds, Coupar Angus, Eye, Aberdeen, Merthyr Tydfill and the Ardo premises in Ashford.
