Compass Group has chosen Muddy Boots Quickfire software solution to issue and standardise its auditing controls for suppliers within the food supply chain.
Two departments within Compass Group, the UK Technical Services Department, who deal with suppliers to the UK business, and the European purchasing company, SEVITA, who work with pan-European and global suppliers, required a system that incorporated the groups own strict standards that they expect all suppliers to meet to ensure only quality food reaches its customers. The system enables inspectors to consistently follow the stringent standards and complete the audit swiftly.
Compass Group is the worlds leading foodservice company, that specialises in providing food, vending and related services, in over 90 countries, to customers in workplaces, schools and hospitals as well as at leisure, in defence, offshore and remote locations.
Sarah Gray, Technical Services Manager for SEVITA, said: The physical audit takes the same amount of time to obtain the necessary results, however, with Quickfire the tiresome process of sorting through piles of loose paperwork in order to re-enter the audit results into the system is eliminated.
This speeds up the whole reporting process, the auditor simply gives a corrective action list to the producer on a USB memory stick and the report can be tidied up when the auditor has a few free minutes, for example in an airport when waiting for a plane. The whole report can then simply be uploaded to the server via the web simple!
Once uploaded, Quickfire allows instant access through a secured system so relevant individuals can view and update the information. In addition, the software can be programmed with preset answers to ensure standardisation across the inspections resulting in auditing being constant and fair for all suppliers.
The Muddy Boots Quickfire software solution is extremely easy to use and one of the main benefits Compass found was that the system was self-explanatory, so auditors picked up the functions quickly.
Sarah further added: We are in the first month of using the system but have already seen the advantages. We look forward to being able to compare historical data to give us an insight to any reoccurring problems so these can be tackled.
The future plan is to roll this out across the supply chain so all the non-food suppliers can benefit from Quickfire as well.
