On 6th June Meadowhall Shopping Centre was delighted to gain a prestigious award at the annual European Retail Solutions Awards after beating off stiff competition from industry experts across Europe. The award was won within the Supply Chain Excellence category for the innovative Accelerated Response Centre, (The ARC), the Centres on-site warehousing and logistics facility.
Meadowhall was the only European shopping centre to be acknowledged and beat off stiff competition from leading retail names, included Virgin and New Look. The judges were extremely impressed by the outstanding contribution that The ARC at Meadowhall had made to retailers ease of trading at the Centre and also praised the innovation, future plans and excellent results of the facility.
The ARC, which was developed in 2002 is a retailer driven concept, and offers retailers a number of storage solutions and retail services on-site at Meadowhall. For many retailers The ARC has revolutionised their supply chain solutions resulting in large cost savings and increased retail sales. In just over 3 years the positive results retailers have received through using The ARC have been very impressive, impacting their bottom line and surpassing Meadowhalls initial projections.
This latest accolade follows three other top industry awards praising The ARC, including The Jean-Louis Solal Award for Centre Productivity, International Council of Shopping Centre (ICSC) Maxi Award for Revue Impact and British Council of Shopping Centres (BCSC) award for Retailer Partnership.
