DHL wins 5-year contract to provide logistics services to Canon (UK) Ltd

DHL Exel Supply Chain has won a 75m, five-year contract with Canon (UK) Ltd, a global leader in its industry, who provides innovative imaging and information technology solutions for both home and office.

DHL Exel Supply Chain will manage Canon's UK logistics operations including warehouse management, technical services and specialist distribution from a 240,000 sq ft facility in Bardon, Leicestershire.

DHL Exel Supply Chain will manage the receipt and storage of Canon products, pick and pack orders as well as pre-delivery value-add preparation of imaging machines. The Company will also manage the equipment set-up, training and removal of packaging material upon delivery. In addition to these activities, DHL Exel Supply Chain will also provide spare parts fulfilment and reverse logistics services.

Over the next year, DHL Exel Supply Chain will work with Canon to develop a technical centre on site. DHL is planning to expand the operation into a multi-user, integrated service centre similar to its other facilities in the UK.
