InBond Increases Performance Against All KPIs After Just 10 Months

Global logistics company InBond has integrated both its warehouse and duty management processes at its 500,000 square feet depot in Eaglescliffe, north east England, using DLx Warehouse, BillingCtl and DutyMaster from RedPrairie. The comprehensive, integrated solutions has saved, InBond the cost and complexity of operating two separate systems. The company has seen a significant increase in picking speed, cut order errors and has improved inventory accuracy substantially in 10 months.

RedPrairies DLx suite replaces InBonds stand-alone legacy depot and duty management systems and provides a comprehensive, functionality-rich solution for InBonds multi-client warehousing operations. The logistics services provider evaluated solutions from other leading vendors, but found RedPrairie offered the best value and highly configurable applications that could be modified quickly and easily to meet the warehousing needs of individual customers. In addition, RedPrairies BillingCtl solution tracks handling and storage charges payable by each customer to ensure prompt, accurate invoicing. The DLx suite cuts overheads by enabling us to integrate the management of all our operations into a single solution, says Chris Boothman, IT Manager, InBond.

Implementation by RedPrairie took two months, followed by eight weeks of testing and user training, which ensured an on time go-live for both DLx Warehouse and DutyMaster. Additionally, more than 95% of InBonds needs are being met using RedPrairies standard functionality.

DutyMaster automates and simplifies the day-to-day complexities of handling goods under Excise bond. Full audit reporting facilities allow the movement of bonded items to be tracked from collection to storage and final delivery to the customer in accordance with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) requirements. RedPrairie meets monthly with HMRC officials to ensure that its software can meet new regulations and provides upgrade patches for all its users. Using DutyMaster gives us the reassurance that we will always be compliant with HMRC legislation, says Ian Butcher, excise supervisor, InBond.
