" A growing number of global companies are recognizing that spending more corporate resources on supply chain design and optimization (SCDO) provides a much greater value to the company then traditional network design efforts or inventory optimisation - often performed as sequential activities.  The growing interest in SCDO stems from an overwhelming industry wide disappointment in hitting inventory and service level targets - and the resulting stakeholder disappointment." explains Douglas Kent, eKNOWtion CEO.

"When the participants in the supply chain can take a cross-enterprise approach to optimisation - the results can be powerful.  Important service levels for on-time delivery (OTD) performance are able to be met pleasing the end customer whilst simultaneously lowering total supply chain cost, " Kent concluded.

"Within the industries we serve, we recognise that our customers want us to add value not only through our advanced supply chain solutions but also through thought leadership.  This series of workshops is another way we can add value to our customers and help make them more successful in what they do, "explained Greg Frazier, executive vice president of global supply chain services for Avnet Electronics Marketing.

"Companies that participate in our Quarterly Forums have explained that the need for solutions such as SCDO is growing but they need to understand more about the subject and how it is implemented," noted Eric Miscoll, COO of Technology Forecasters.
