Skillweb announces Task Control Manager for mobile workers in retail delivery and fulfilment

Skillweb, the mobile computing specialist company, has announced the availability of the latest in its family of wireless applications - Task Control Manager (TCM).  TCM is aimed at mobile workers in retail delivery and fulfilment who need to receive tasks and be able to return status reports back to head office, specifically where delivery schedules need to be flexible to provide better customer service.

The business benefits include:

Cost effective management tool to manage the distribution of tasks to field engineers
Visibility of work in progress, to improve accountability and productivity
Flexibility of the system to add new jobs, or re-allocate them, or delete them thereby increasing staff utilisation
Management reports to measure performance and therefore improve efficiency of your operations

TCM is deployed to field workers on mobile computers ranging from XDA devices to fully specified rugged handheld terminals, with GPRS communications used to receive tasks and send status reports.  A web-based task allocation system runs at head office, enabling managers to allocate tasks, view work in progress and check on completed jobs.  The application interfaces with legacy systems and these can be used to distribute tasks and receive reports.

Implementing TCM is a straight forward process, a joint project team will determine both user screen configurations and management reports; hardware will be selected from a range of options and rapidly deployed into service.

Skillwebs TCM product is an extension of its 2020ePOD and Track & Trace Manager.  2020ePOD is a cost-effective proof of delivery solution for home delivery operations and multi-drop business to business operations.  Track and Trace

Manager extends the Proof of Delivery solution by facilitating managing distribution activities, for example loading, unloading, tracking consignments and so forth.

Chris Wright, Managing Director of Skillweb commented, We are delighted to be launching Task Control Manager as this further extends the scope of Skillwebs logistics and supply chain solutions.  By including the distribution and allocation of tasks for field and home workers within the Skillweb product set we are providing our customers with the ability to have total visibility of all tasks and operations within the supply chain.  Supervisors and managers can now see exactly who is doing what, and how much work has been completed, allowing them to measure performance and improve efficiency.
