A PAINLESS DELIVERY!

eCourier Ltd, the UKs fastest growing courier company, has recently won the Best Use of Technology category at the annual Startups Awards, now in their second year. A key component to the companys success has been its development of AIBA, a state-of-the-art intelligent despatch system, and highly usable online booking facility. This exciting technology is set to revolutionise the same day courier business!

ECourier was established in 2003 by Tom Allason and Jay Bergman and born out of the frustration Tom experienced with levels of technology and service available in the same day courier market. On 14 September 2004 and after 18 months of research, eCourier executed its first delivery. Since then it has achieved a month on month average growth rate in excess of 75 per cent with a total turnover of 276,000. It currently employs 85 staff - 25 in the office and 60 out on the road.

Tom Alleson, Managing Director, eCourier Ltd comments: Winning this award means so much to the team and makes all the trial and tribulations of running a business worthwhile. Our cutting-edge technology is the result of months and months of research and development and its wonderful to receive recognition for that from such an impressive and well-respected judging panel.

He continues: Id recommend other fledgling companies to enter next years event; its definitely worth the time and effort especially as preparing the application is almost like conducting a mini strategy review, which we found very beneficial.

eCouriers fully integrated system comprises an intuitive and usable online booking facility which processes all delivery requests. Deliveries are then automatically allocated to eCouriers eliminating the need for human intervention. A street-level tracking module allows clients to follow the GPS-informed movements of couriers assigned to their deliveries while a module automatically despatches Proof of Delivery emails containing the recipients digital signature, timed to arrive in user inboxes no later than ten seconds after signatures are taken on the couriers mobile computer.

Dan Matthews, Online Editor, Crimson Business says: eCourier offers a great service built on world-class technology. Its integrated system features an intuitive and exceedingly usable online booking system that maximises levels of efficiency and also drives down prices. The use of GPRS enables eCourier is able to give amazing levels of tracking. The judges were impressed with the current growth rates and excellent potential that eCourier represents.
