Cerestar chooses OM Partners for fifth time

Cerestar in Bergen-op-Zoom (NL), a member of the Cargill group producing starches and derivatives, has successfully implemented OMP Scheduler from OM Partners. This makes Bergen-op-Zoom the fifth Cerestar production site to use the OMP Scheduler module.

There are currently four OMP Schedulers being used in Bergen-op-Zoom: two for the wheat plant and two for the maize plant.

In the wheat plant OMP Scheduler drives the milling and glucose refining processes, together with the downstream blending and loading processes. OMP Scheduler gives a reliable overview of the stocks of different basic syrups available at any particular moment, which are blended to form a large number of end products for the various Cerestar customers.

In the maize plant OMP Scheduler is used not only to manage the maize slurry storage tanks but also to manage the modification tanks and starch driers with optimum efficiency. OMP Scheduler additionally manages a large number of storage tanks, and supports the starch loading and filling processes.

Finally, OMP Scheduler has been combined with Cerestars operational ERP package.

OMP Scheduler has clearly proved its usefulness for us, says Cerestar project leader Hans Dieleman. Furthermore, the scheduling tool fits in perfectly with the planning aspects that are not possible with an ERP package. Apart from its efficient, pragmatic, project-oriented approach, OM Partners has demonstrated its ability to think how planning processes can help to optimize the operational management.
