TNT EXPRESS ICS WINS THE EUROPEAN QUALITY AWARD

Underpinning the worlds leading business-to-business express delivery company with some of the finest information technology systems and services in the market has seen Warwickshire-based TNT Express win prestigious Europe-wide recognition.

The TNT Express Information & Communications Services (ICS) team - based at Holly Lane, Atherstone has been awarded the European Quality Award by the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), for demonstrating Excellence in the Operational Units of larger companies, category.

Providing a global service to TNT businesses on four continents, the ICS Support Unit was presented with the award at the EFQM gala dinner and presentation ceremony held in the Welsh capital, Cardiff. The accolade was accompanied by an additional prize for demonstrating excellence in leadership and constancy of purpose, one of the fundamental concepts that underpins the EFQM Excellence Model.

By integrating EFQMs Excellence Model into the organisation, Express ICS has developed a structured approach to developing and executing its strategies through value adding processes, leading to satisfied stakeholders and worldclass performance levels.

Shwan Moubarak, Director of TNT Express ICS, said: This achievement is a tribute to the dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to change demonstrated by the whole team. This accolade highlights the inherent excellence of our organisation. Furthermore, it proves how highly we rank alongside other leading European companies.

This years achievement follows two previous excellence accolades awarded to TNT Express ICS in the last four years. The company has grown from attaining regional recognition with the 2002 Midlands Excellence Award, to winning the UK Excellence award in 2003.

With the model of excellence firmly established in the structure of Express ICS, the company will continue to improve the standard of its operations. Customers, suppliers and partners are all set to benefit, as the EFQM framework re-enforces the importance of customer focus, process management and results orientation, all of which are critical to our success, concluded Dr Moubarak.
