Patni Computer Systems Ltd. (Patni), global IT Services provider, and i2 Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITWO), a leading provider of demand-driven supply chain solutions designed to enable business agility, today announced an alliance to provide industry customized solutions using i2 Master Data Management (MDM) solutions. Through this alliance i2 and Patni intend to combine their data management expertise, world class application integration and architecture capabilities, as well as industry specific process knowledge.
The Patni and i2 alliance is intended to deliver Master Data Management solutions to help companies better manage enterprise data across disparate systems and business processes. i2 MDM is designed to enable enterprises to control and synchronize master data and obtain better visibility, planning, and decision making. Synchronized master data can improve supply chain management, purchasing decisions, inventory management, financial control, and after-sales service. It is also designed to enable enterprise-wide processes such as new product introduction, and build composite applications.
As part of this partnership, we will be able to build customized solutions using the i2 portfolio and help our customers achieve more efficient business operations, said Milind Padalkar, Senior Vice-President, Patni. i2 MDM combined with Patnis domain expertise in target verticals - especially retail and manufacturing - can help address the disparate data location issues of our clients. These solutions are designed to improve business efficiency, minimize data redundancy and enable companies to effectively face market changes and global competition.
"We believe i2 MDM solves a problem facing just about every company in every vertical market. It is attractive to a multitude of companies because it can be rapidly deployed to leverage existing technology investments while allowing for future growth, said Pallab Chatterjee, i2 President, Solutions Operations. "Patni works closely with very large organizations in the manufacturing, financial services and insurance spaces. We believe that this partnership can help i2 leverage Patnis experience in these verticals to add greater value to customers."
