EXEL HELPS THE NEW DSSELDORF CHINA CENTRE (DCC) OPEN FOR BUSINESS

Exel, the global leader in supply chain management, has played a key logistics roles in the construction of the new Dsseldorf China Centre (DCC) on the Knigsallee, Dsseldorf's famous promenade.

Exel in Dsseldorf's seafreight team managed the just-in-time delivery of construction materials and furniture from China to Hamburg, and then roadfreight from the port at Hamburg directly to the DCC building site using its own fleet of lorries. The Company managed all the complete transportation and logistics process which included collection of goods from various suppliers in China, using its own, freight consolidation and customs brokerage and then organised the seafreight from China to Hamburg.

The DCC business and cultural centre, offers a wide range of services for the development of business relations between China and North Rhine-Westphalia region. By the end of 2005, the first tenants will include the Business Development Company for the Province of Jiangsu, who has set up a representative office in the new building, extending the relationship with the capital city of North Rhine-Westphalia. Additional attractions of the DCC will be a restaurant, a tea house and a China Club with a spa.
