Nisa-Todays completes roll-out of AquiTec Warehouse across National Warehousing Operation

Nisa -Todays, the UKs largest independent buying consortium, has installed AquiTecs SCM/400 warehouse management software at its 150,000 sq ft temperature-controlled distribution centre for chilled and frozen products in Stoke-on-Trent, completing the companys roll-out of AquiTecs solution across its three regional distribution centres. The centres - in Stoke-on-Trent, Harlow and Scunthorpe - serve over 6,000 convenience stores across the UK.

AquiTecs ability to manage pick-by-line for chilled and frozen products for multiple customers was a key factor in the decision to standardize on the companys platform across all three sites; AquiTecs market-leading functionality is allowing NISA-Today to improve ordering accuracy, minimise stock held and maximise warehouse space, to deliver a key market advantage to its customers, with a vast choice of reliable, high-quality fresh foods at a competitive price.

The decision to install AquiTecs software at the Stoke-on-Trent site followed the successful implementation at the Harlow, Essex facility in October 2004. The Stoke-on-Trent installation was completed in just three weeks.

Yet again AquiTec has exceeded expectation with its stable and functional product that has been easy to install and actually works, commented Stephen Hunter, managing director of logistics at Nisa-Todays. The choice to continue to work with AquiTec was simple as it always guarantees to carry out work on time, to budget and with the utmost competence and dedication. In addition, AquiTecs ability to manage the back-to-back delivery and dispatch of goods in a non-stocked environment has been fundamental to the success of our premier service.

Nisa-Todays had previously investigated the market for warehouse management systems and after assessing a total of five different vendors solutions for functionality, risk of implementation, sustainability and development of code, and cost, Nisa-Todays chose to stay with AquiTec as it scored most highly across all criteria.

Frank Arico, CEO at AquiTec comments:

In todays highly competitive retail environment, the functionality of Warehouse Management Software can be a critical factor. NISA Todays chosen path of using AquiTecs superior Pick-By-Line functionality, coupled with voice picking technology, at their Harlow and Stoke regional distribution centres, has been instrumental in the success of NISA Todays service to its members. The roll-out in Stoke-on-Trent is testimony to the success of our software in helping to improve warehouse productivity, keep costs down and enable NISA Todays to deliver a competitive edge to the independent retailers it serves.
