RED INC APPOINT PROLOG LOGISTICS TO HANDLE UK DISTRIBUTION

Prolog Logistics has been appointed by clothing manufacturer Red Inc to handle the warehousing and distribution of its three key clothing brands. This significant win marks Prologs recent move into the retail logistics arena and follows a period of sustained growth with significant new business wins including, Lloyd Shoe.

Red Inc design and market a wide range of clothing for young men and women ranging from T-shirts to denim. Its products are sold through independent retailers and department stores including House of Fraser. The manufacturers key brands include; Elvis Jesus, Ringspun and Catskill.

Prolog Logistics will receive the Red Inc stock into a bonded warehouse and from there Prolog Transport and DHL will despatch the clothing to stores throughout the UK. Prolog Logistics has developed a tailored e-procurement system for Red Inc that allows sales representatives in the field to order stock through a web-based ordering system. The system, which is utilised by installing 3G cards into laptops, will enable the sales force to order stock in real time as well as checking stock levels. If the stock isnt available at the point of order, the items will be automatically ordered from the manufacturer.

Mailbrain Warehouse Management Software will be used by Prolog Logistics to eliminate any picking errors. Every item of clothing delivered into the warehouse will be bar-coded to improve order accuracy, reduce returns and improve efficiency. Prologs IT systems will provide Red Inc with full order visibility from purchase order through to storage, pick, pack and final delivery to the end user. All management information will be available online and integrates into Red Incs finance systems.
