Progress partner Open Logistix expands with Enigma acquisition

Progress Software application partner Open Logistix Systems of Newcastle-under-Lyme has acquired the assets of Leicester-based Enigma Information Systems. As a result, fast-growing Open Logistix has increased its customer base by about 30 per cent, including some significant retailing household names and added complementary products to its portfolio, which share Progress OpenEdge as the underlying technology platform.

The additional products enable us to enhance our OpenLogistix supply chain application into an enterprise-strength ERP (enterprise resource planning) solution which widens our potential market place, says Stewart Murray, managing director of Open Logistics Systems. Were adding a customer analysis and relationship manager, the fantastic E-bridge technology which enables any enterprise application to be accessed by any device capable of supporting a web browser which has great potential for satisfying the needs of mobile workers and a solution for managing primary distribution networks, to our existing supply chain management system.

Open Logistix also has arrangements to re-sell warehouse management systems from Proteus Software and financial accounting from OpenAccounts both highly successful Progress application partners.

Former customers of Enigma products have been assured of business and support as usual.

Mark Gilliland, managing director Progress Software said; This is a great example of how the Progress community works together to build best-of-breed business solutions and enlarge the penetration of Progress applications within organisations. The OpenEdge platform simplifies integration and provides lower IT support costs than similar Microsoft or Oracle environments. End-users also benefit from the domain expertise of our partners which is why we have such a strong take-up by mid-tier companies.
