The Onninen Group, one of Europes leading materials services companies, has signed a frame agreement with Consafe Logistics AB. The agreement means Onninen will use Astro WMS in their distribution centres group wide.

Onninen was founded over 90 years ago and is still owned by the family controlled Onvest Group. Throughout the years, the Onninen Group has developed into an international group active in eight countries (a total of 135 outlets): Finland, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Onninens business concept is to offer product, information and distribution services to contractors, industrial companies, energy companies, public organisations and retailers. In 2004 the company had 2600 employees and a turnover of 1.2 billion euro.

The companys Norwegian distribution centre is already running Astro WMS and there is an on-going implementation project in Sweden.

Onninen has been evaluating several different WMS for some time - work that has resulted in the choice of Astro WMS. We have been looking for a global warehouse management solution that can support our needs for high quality, efficiency and scalability of DC operations - as well as enable us to both harmonize our way of working but still be responsive towards local needs, says Anne Kariniemi, Senior Vice President Logistics, Onninen group.

We are very proud that Onninen has chosen to build its global logistics solutions on Astro WMS. Logistics is an important competitive factor and together we can develop a strong solution that meets Onninens future requirements for expansion, says Robert Jansson, CEO Consafe Logistics Group.
