Wavetrend Enters into Strategic Partnership with OxLoc

OxLoc Ltd an Oxfordshire technology company has recently entered into a commercial arrangement with global company Wavetrend to integrate its sophisticated GPS standalone tracking technology with Wavetrend Active tags and receivers. OxLoc recently announced the launch of its latest version of the Asset Alert Solution for monitoring the location and condition of assets which have no access to any power source. Powered by only 2 D cell batteries, customers will be able to use these devices for operating periods of up to 3 years, reporting information twice per day.

Conventional telematics solutions reporting position and condition have been available for a number of years and are increasingly being incorporated into Logistics and Distribution Management Solutions to improve business efficiency and generate operational cost savings.
The hardware solutions currently available require access to an 'always on' power source. In many applications such as Trailers, Plant Equipment, Containers and Rail Freight this power source is simply not available. OxLoc have solved the problem through a unique power management solution, allowing the unit to run from primary D cell batteries. Through this new exciting partnership a derivative of this system will soon be available to gather consignment information from Tagged goods inside containers and trailers using tried and tested Wavetrend Active Tag Technology. "Our relationship with OxLoc will provide another differentiating component for both our end customers and Accredited Channel Partners, who are always looking to push the boundaries of active RFID, for which we are internationally recognised as being a world leader." said Chris Bishop, Sales and Marketing Director of Wavetrend.

Keith Dobson, CEO of OxLoc comments, In the same way as our Asset Alert Solution is completely standalone, the Active Wavetrend Tags which are ultra long range, last in excess of three years and in some cases up to ten years with clever autonomous battery  management. Even though the tags constantly transmit and can be picked up at ranges in excess of 100 metres. As Wavetrend Active Tags are becoming prolific in the market place there is a clear need to be able to See and Gather data from tagged consignments in all types of verticals.

Powerless trailers or containers which can sometimes sit at docks or ports would be a typical example of where Wavetrend and OxLoc intend to deploy the combined technologies through their respective channel partners. Consignment data as well as the true GPS position will be sent back to a selected point from virtually anywhere in the world.
