Ping Europe Limited announced today that it has selected LXE's MX3X mobile handheld computer to automate its manufacturing and warehouse processes as part of its continuous improvement programme.

The MX3X units will be deployed at the European Headquarters in Gainsbrough, Lincolnshire, where PING design, manufacture, export and distribute custom-fit golf clubs.

Integrating with the bespoke warehouse management system, Neil Cottingham, IT Manager at PING Europe, believes that "incorporating the LXE MX3X to gain access to information will improve efficiency and streamline processes at PING".

The MX3X units were selected by PING because of the large 6.5" high visibility screen which perfectly fit their specific requirements for use in both the manufacturing and warehouse environments.

"With up to 6 million combinations of club type available from PING, the MX3X will assist the tracking of individual customer requirements from manufacture to shipment and will ensure that, along with our ISO Certification, we are providing the best level of service to our consumers", says Dave Fanning, Marketing Manager at PING Europe Limited.

Damian Penney, Sales and Marketing Director at LXE concluded "PING were looking to add value throughout their production process, and conducting a thorough investigation into which terminal was most suited to this need, selected the MX3X as it covered a broad range of applications and allowed users to switch between handheld and vehicle mounted usage".
