Nutricia is part of Royal Numico N.V., a global leader in specialised nutrition incorporating brand names such as Cow & Gate, Milupa, Homeward and Nutricia Clinical Care. Its Baby and Clinical divisions have been supplying high quality feeds, systems and support services to parents, patients and healthcare professionals for many years.

As part of a major change programme relating to the provision of the distribution services to home based clinical patients Nutricia introduced a replacement IEEE 802.11b Wireless infrastructure and selected Sandpiper Corporation to supply and install a number of Intermec WA22 Access Points.

To ensure the wireless infrastructure provides the highest levels of service availability to the mobile devices deployed in the warehouse, Sandpiper has been engaged to provide a 24 Hour; On Site, System Support Agreement. This agreement provides a range of services designed to support the daily operation of the system and, in the event of an infrastructure failure, respond effectively, reducing downtime and minimising any detrimental impact to the business.

These services also extend to include system health checks, minor modifications and enhancements that are required from time to time to ensure the system remains current and delivering reliable wireless service to the operation.

The System Support Agreement provides Nutricia cover for the site 24hrs a day. Should an issue not be resolved through recommended actions on the dedicated phone line, an engineer will attend site within four hours. To minimise downtime and fault diagnosis, Wireless LAN Manager, an Intermec Wireless management software tool, has been installed on a dedicated PC at the Warndon site which is remotely accessible over a VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection by Sandpipers engineers 24hrs a day.

Sandpiper recognises that each organisation has different needs and as such we tailor our services to meet individual requirements. Each System Service Agreement is based upon a clear understanding of the responsibilities and expectations of both parties.
