Sandpiper Corporation & Mandata Win Contract to Supply Relay Technical Transport Ltd With Mobile Computing Solution.

Sandpiper Corporation is pleased to announce that it has won a key contract in conjunction with software partner Mandata to supply Relay Technical Transport Ltd with a mobile computing solution.

With over 25 years experience in meeting the complex logistical considerations encountered with the movement, storage and installation of high value computer office automation and scientific equipment Relay is to expand the use of Mandatas fleet management solution Manpack with the introduction of Manpack3.

Sandpiper have provided the Intermec model 760 hand held mobile computers with integrated GPRS data communications, barcode scanners and GPS tracking receivers. This hardware solution supports the Manpack3 client application deployed to 45 specially manufactured air-ride, safe transport vehicles.

By facilitating real time wide area data communications with the Manpack transport management suite the Intermec hand held computers will be downloaded dynamically with delivery, load and customer specific requirement details for drivers and operatives further improving customer response levels.

Real time fleet management through vehicle location tracking, Barcode scanning and electronic proof of delivery recorded dynamically at destination and sent back via the computers integrated GPRS radio for immediate system update will help provide increased levels of traceability, accuracy and quality of service.

At Relay we are passionate about reliability and keeping one step ahead of the competition. This system provides us with a genuine competitive edge. Commented Hugh Reid managing Director of Relay Technical Transport ltd.
