Manhattan Associates, Inc. (Nasdaq: MANH), the global leader in providing supply chain execution and optimisation solutions, has appointed Steve Smith to the post of vice president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will report into Jeff Baum, senior vice president of international operations. The appointment, which comes after a year in which Manhattan Associates has grown revenue and employee numbers in the region for the seventh year in a row, positions the company to exploit further the growth opportunity the EMEA region presents over the next several years.
Since joining Manhattan Associates in 2004 as vice president of Performance Services, Mr. Smith has worked closely with customers across EMEA to ensure they are maximising the return on their investment with Manhattan Associates solutions. In his new role, based out of Bracknell in the UK, he will continue to work with customers but will also be responsible for overseeing the companys future growth throughout the region.
Weve worked hard on developing our solutions to meet European market demands and have invested heavily in putting the organisation in place to support our customers locally in a number of key markets in the region. Now with the increased demand for our Integrated Logistics Solutions well beyond warehousing, the launch of our channels programme and the growing number of customers who are truly looking at Manhattan Associates as their strategic supply chain execution platform, it is important to strengthen further the leadership team in EMEA said Jeff Baum. Customers look to Manhattan Associates to help optimise their supply chains and Steves wealth of experience in our marketplace as well as his track record and leadership skills will prove invaluable as he takes the reins as head of the EMEA team to extend our leading position in the region.
Mr. Smith has more than 20 years supply chain experience within leading worldwide organisations spanning sectors including retail, wholesale and manufacturing as well as government, logistics services and home shopping. Before joining Manhattan Associates, he held a number of positions at SSA Global Technologies (formerly EXE Technologies) including, most recently, general manager EMEA, where he had full profit and loss responsibility and accountability for the creation and growth of the SSA Global Technologies supply chain solutions business across the EMEA region. Having also worked on numerous strategic consulting assignments with various multi-national organisations around the world, and held senior positions at materials handling equipment specialist Dexion Limited, Mr. Smith has acquired a wealth of business management and leadership experience as well as gained specialised knowledge about a whole range of supply chain disciplines including labour management and customer service improvement.
