Aldata Solution, a global provider of integrated merchandise management and supply chain solutions for high volume retailers, today announced that Smart & Final, Inc., one of the leading grocery retailers in the Western US and Northern Mexico, has implemented Aldatas G.O.L.D. suite of retail merchandising solutions on-time and on-budget.
The scope of the implementation includes Aldatas headquarters operations, warehouse management and replenishment optimisation solutions. Aldata was chosen because it was able to tackle the challenging requirements of managing fresh foods throughout the supply chain lifecycle and being able to handle Smart & Final high volumes of items, transactions and locations.
The go-live at Smart & Final (at its headquarters and at one of its warehouses) is the first phase of a comprehensive supply chain initiative for the retailer and should enable it to efficiently manage the more than 40,000 food and foodservice items that flow through its distribution network on a daily basis.
According to Zeke Duge, SVP and CIO of Smart & Final, Aldatas G.O.L.D. suite replaces aging systems at Smart & Final that did not support our diversification and growth, and the Topase replenishment optimization has provided us with an initial 18% reduction in stock we needed to carry in the warehouse.
