In response to the increasing Lean Manufacturing imperative, Infor is offering a webinar to address leading trends in Lean for parts suppliers and manufacturers in the automotive industry. This third webinar in Infors AutoKnow series is entitled, Do You Know Where Your Parts Are? Lean Logistics for the Automotive Industry.

Currently, the global automotive industry spends $3.8 trillion on logistics to move parts and supplies from source to final product. Massive amounts of materials are in transit at any given time. Critical to maintaining appropriate inventory levels, accelerating order-to-delivery, and supporting on-going cost reduction initiatives is visibility into the global supply chain to manage inventory and in-transit shipments. This webinar will focus on how suppliers and OEMs can leverage Lean initiatives to manage costs, responsiveness, and customer service to stay on their customers preferred partner list while managing intricate global supply chains.

Thomas Klein, Executive Director, Global Logistics & Materials Management for Tenneco Automotive, will present Tennecos approach to Lean Logistics and discuss how the company is utilizing technology to create competitive advantages. At Tenneco, Klein is responsible for leading the integration of logistics and distribution to leverage expertise in Supply Chain Management and Lean Logistics processes throughout the entire supply and demand chain with the objective of achieving maximum customer satisfaction at minimum cost.
