Pharma distributor Cofas optimises their supply chain with IBS Software

IBS, International Business Systems (XSSE: IBS B) has signed an agreement with Cofas, a major Spanish pharmaceutical distributor. The agreement covers the delivery of a total solution including IBS specialised software for pharmaceutical distribution, IBS Pharma, professional services as well as hardware from IBM.

Cofas has over 500 partners, is quality certified according to ISO 9001 and has an annual turnover of 190 m. Using industrial robots, Cofas can automate the delivery of 70 percent of their orders. The new software solution from IBS will be used to streamline all major operations and activities within Cofas. The agreement includes software for handling financials, distribution, warehouse management and CRM. Cofas will also utilise IBS Integrator for programto-program integration. The new IT-solution is planned to go live in September 2005.

The first goal of this IT-project is to improve the quality of service to pharmaceutical partners and to prepare the company for the challenging environment facing pharmaceutical distribution in Spain, says Gustavo lvarez, General Manager of Cofas.
