JOBSHOP IS ORDER OF THE DAY

The clinching of a five-figure order for its Jobshop manufacturing software within minutes of demonstrating it to a new prospect stole the show for HRS at the recent Donington Park IT Showcase event.

The order, placed by Glossop-based aerospace tooling and fixture specialist, AIM Engineering Ltd, was won by HRS against competition from several other MRP suppliers at the exhibition.

According to Alan Foster, Director at AIM Engineering: Most of the other vendors simply talked a good story. But when I saw Jobshop in action for myself, I could immediately see it would fulfil all of our requirements. It covers everything from costing and estimating to the automatic generation of user-definable cutting lists and works orders, routings, BOMs, materials requirements, plan times, delivery dates and customer details; all in a fully integrated package.

It has clearly been developed to enable real world manufacturing operations, like ours, to take complete control of their manufacturing processes.

With 70 employees and a turnover of almost 6 million, AIM Engineering has grown to be one of the leaders in its field, supplying organisations such as Red Bull Racing, BAe and Airbus Industrie with high precision gauging, tooling and set-up fixtures. The ability to achieve fast deliveries has always been a cornerstone of its success. So, perhaps it is understandable that the company should waste no time over its decision to implement Jobshop too.

We are delighted to have won AIMs business in this way, says HRSs John Suero. It not only demonstrates the capabilities of our Jobshop system, but also reflects the strength of the IT Showcase series as an effective promotional platform. We exhibited at a number of venues last year and are looking to build on our recent success by participating at a further nine events around the country during 2005.
