Cybit, the UK's leading online telematics service provider, has announced that Solutions @ Work, the UK's foremost distributor and installer of office furniture, has implemented its real-time fleet and asset management solution, Fleetstar-Online, incorporating the Smartnav satellite navigation system from Trafficmaster. Solutions @ Work has installed 40 units of Fleetstar-Online and Smartnav to its fleet of fitter and distributor vehicles enabling the company to enhance the flexibility with which it manages its mobile assets. This allows it to increase business opportunities, reduce costs and provide greater customer service. Since implementation, Solutions @ Work has fulfilled 15 per cent more orders without increasing its fleet size.
Solutions @ Work utilises a large fleet to deliver and fit its office products nationwide. By installing Fleetstar-Online and Smartnav into its vehicles, the company can redirect its fitters to fulfil changing order patterns and offer heightened levels of customer service. Solutions @ Work's drivers' destinations frequently change and the integration of satellite navigation technology enables a quick and safe re-routing process.
"There were two main business drivers behind our original acquisition of telematics solutions," says Steve Cuthbertson, Director, Solutions @ Work. "Obviously cost was one of them, but more important was achieving greater reactivity and increased customer service, Which Cybit provided through Fleetstar-Online. What set Cybit above the rest was its satellite navigation solution, Smartnav, which our whole company and fleet see as a big positive.
The solution has produced significant cost savings because, through driver redirection, we have been able to use our fleet more efficiently, and it has enabled us to develop increased productivity. Our output has increased by 15 per cent this year, and this would not have been possible without Cybit's tracking solutions - they have enabled us to roll out our services to a wider market," he concluded.

Fleetstar-Online provides Solutions @ Work with a cost effective ASP-based fleet management solution that offers rapid return on investment. Vehicles are fitted with a small electronic in-vehicle-unit, which is tracked by GPS in real time, and transmitted to Cybit's control centre. Users can access the system with a standard web browser offering an anytime, anywhere fleet management tool which incorporates location-based vehicle tracking, up-to-the-minute traffic information, route planning and scheduling, historical reporting and analysis, journey replay, exception reporting and SMS capabilities.
