Vocollect and its partner VoiteQ, the UK's leading provider of voice-directed distribution systems for warehousing and industrial applications, today announced that Premier Decorations, the UK's number one supplier of Christmas decorations and seasonal products, is deploying Vocollect's Talkman T2 voice terminals and VoiteQ's Voiceman middleware system within its warehouse in Wrexham. Working closely with Christian Salvesen, who designed the state-of-the-art warehouse, VoiteQ tailored a voice-directed picking and replenishment solution to match Premier's requirements.
Supplying to customers ranging from major high street stores to independent retailers, Premier Decorations understand the need for efficiency, particularly in the run up to Christmas where timeframes are tight and through-put increases by an additional half a million cases. With this in mind, Premier chose the VoiceMan solution using Vocollect's world renowned Talkman systems to take advantage of the tried and tested interface into Christian Salvesen's host system. In addition, the system will react to a rapid increase in business, without impacting on service to its customers.
The voice-directed system was chosen to improve the picking and replenishment processes, previously based on paper and allows order pickers to receive picking instructions via their headsets. The 'Hands-free, Eyes-free'T solution eliminates the need for warehouse employees to 'return to base' to collect new lists and since implementation, Premier has seen conclusive gains in accuracy and productivity.
