20 January 2005 - OFSCI CREATES A SUPPLY CHAIN REACTION

OFSCI (Optimum Foodservice Supply Chain Initiative), the industry body committed to achieving an efficient Foodservice supply chain, will be hosting its third annual conference at Stareton Hall, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire on Thursday 20 January 2005.

OFSCI is a collaboration of over 70 key players from the foodservice industry; including the Food & Drink Federation, the Federation of Wholesale Distributors and the British Frozen Food Federation together with leading Manufacturers, Distributors and Operators. The members share a united vision to implement a pan-industry standardised electronic supply chain operation that is innovative, focused and efficient. The new system will serve to create a common platform of industry standards with many benefits, including improved data quality and reduced operational costs.

The interactive conference will offer delegates an exciting and valuable opportunity to understand where current inefficiencies and hidden costs exist and gain an insight into the future of foodservice supply chain. The OFSCI range of standards developed to successfully streamline supply chain operations will also be showcased, which include Europes first use of ebxml forms and first standard method of exchanging data.
