SO GOOD BRINGS PREVIOUSLY OUTSOURCED ORDER PROCESSING FUNCTION IN HOUSE

So Good, provider and distributor of Soya health beverages, has placed a 10,000 order with business software specialists CPiO, for a Sage MMS software system that is enabling So Good to bring its previously outsourced order processing and invoicing in-house.

So Good made the decision to bring its order processing and invoicing function in house in order to improve its relationships with its retail customers, further establish itself as a recognised supplier within the retail industry and to improve its management over business processes such as stock control.

Allan Staples, CEO of So Good explains, So Good has grown rapidly over the last five years, from start-up in 99 to a business with a 10 million turnover in 2004. We have a very high transactional workload and needed to have more control over our order processing, stock control and invoicing functions than an outsourcing could provide.

Having not managed its own order processing and invoicing function previously, So Good needed a system that was intuitive and easy to use, while having a high degree of functionality for its five users. It was also imperative that the organisation worked with a systems integrator who could give best practice advice and guidance during the selection and implementation process in order to make the transition as seamless and efficient as possible.

So Good was an existing user of Sage Line 50, but needed the specific stock, sales order processing and electronic data interchange (EDI) functionality that a larger system could provide. It chose Sages MMS system for its ease of use, user friendliness and cost effectiveness.

CPiO was recommended by Sage for its experience in implementing large systems and its expertise in the distribution and manufacturing fields. As a new reseller of Sage MMS, CPiO would be able to apply its knowledge of enterprise-wide systems integration and offer So Good ongoing advice, training and insight that would ensure a smooth, rapid and successful implementation.

Indeed, the system implementation took only two months and went live in June 2004. After only one month end on MMS, So Good is already seeing early benefits that include an improved level of functionality and access to management information that the organisation previously did not have.

Allan Staples concludes, As our business matures, it is fundamental that our systems and processes mature in parallel. Not only is the Sage MMS system a good fit for our business at the moment and moving forwards, but CPiO has also provided us with insight and advice throughout selection and implementation that is ensuring our processes set us on the right path to successfully manage business growth in future.
