Wal-Mart commissions Swisslog to build two more distribution centres

Wal-Mart, the worlds largest retailer awards two distribution center material handling system (MHS) projects to logistics expert Swisslog. The new distribution centers will be built in Pennsylvania and Illinois, USA. Start-up of the two sites is scheduled for mid 2006. The MHS projects incorporate a semi-automatic approach to provide the optimum level of automation to distribute products to surrounding stores. These projects are the 6th and 7th that Swisslog will implement for Wal-Mart in North America.
