IBS delivers ASP solution to Konaflex

IBS has signed a deal with power-components distributor, Konaflex, to provide a complete ASP (Application Service Provider) solution. By adopting the ASP model and upgrading its information systems, Konaflex aims to enhance customer service, optimise resources and improve information sharing.

Konaflex and IBS have been business partners since 1996. The partnership will be strengthened early in 2005 when Konaflex implements an upgraded version of ASW as an ASP solution. The system upgrade includes ASWs manufacturing and production components.

Konaflexs ASW solution had previously been customised to include features such as multi-currency handling, which are now standard components of the new system.

- The new ASP solution ensures that we are always using an up-to-date version. Costs are fixed, and we do not have to dedicate our own staff to system maintenance, said Konaflex Commercial Manager Juha Leppnen, discussing reasons for selecting the IBS ASP solution.

With the new system, Konaflex aims to establish more straightforward processes. Competitive pressures make it imperative to minimise lead-times through efficient information flow. The new systems graphical interface gives management, sales and other personnel easier and better access to business information.

- The upgrade will make it possible for our sales staff to have mobile access to information via their laptops. Customer service improves, the number of phone calls decreases, and resources can be directed to active sales, said Leppnen.

The long partnership between IBS and Konaflex eased the system upgrade process.

- IBS experience with our systems and business made the process smoother. They know how we have operated in the past and how we want to operate in the future, said Leppnen.
