INTERNATIONAL PLASTICS MOULDING COMPANY WINS USER OF THE YEAR AWARD FROM LILLY SOFTWARE

Hi-Tech Mouldings, an 8m turnover international supplier of plastics mouldings and related services based in Waterlooville, Hampshire, has won the United Kingdom User of the Year Award from Lilly Software Associates, a worldwide vendor of supply chain management systems.

The announcement and presentation of the award was made on Lilly Software's stand on the first day of CIM 2004, a major exhibition for computer's in manufacturing, held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham, September 28-30.

Receiving the award from Lilly Software's Managing Director, Clive Mattson, Hi-Tech Mouldings' Marketing and Sales Director, Richard Brown, said: "We invested in the Lilly Software system as the central IT resource to run our entire business and it is serving us well.

He added: "As a team, from the top down, we put a lot of effort into getting the most from the system and exploring its potential. It's a pleasure to see the effort recognised and that we have been able to beat much larger contestants."

Clive Mattson said: "Hi-Tech Mouldings has set a new standard for commitment and best practice. It took a strategic view of its business, how IT would help achieve objectives and what the investment would deliver in terms of benefits. The company is a model of best practice."

The plastics moulding company is about to further exploit the value and capabilities of the Lilly Software supply chain management system by implementing the VISUAL Business Intelligence module for financial management and later, the VISUAL CRM module to enhance customer relationship management.

A powerful tool, the Lilly Software business intelligence module enables the management of an organisation to look more closely at revenue and operating costs, find out how the company is performing and, more importantly, reveal the reasons why performance is above or below expectations, or other defined criteria. Users are given the ability to better interpret and analyse the data, and the means to measure, manage, and improve business performance.

The plastics moulding company has a record of winning awards and recognition for its ambitious sales and technical achievements. The company won the Processor of the Year award in 2001, Plastic Industry Sales and Marketing Award 2002, was a finalist in The New Business of the Year Award 2003 and this year again became Processor of the Year.

Twenty years old and privately owned, Hi-Tech Mouldings employs around 150 people and produces low- to medium-volume specialist plastic parts, assemblies and finished products for marine, aerospace, medical and defence markets around the world.

Hi-Tech Mouldings has become an international full-service provider with customers as far afield as Mexico, Malaysia and Taiwan. It offers consultancy, concept design to manufacture (including designing and making tools), complete assembly, test and quality assurance.
