Manhattan Associates, Inc. (Nasdaq: MANH), the global leader in providing supply chain execution and optimisation solutions, officially announced the release of its EPC Manager solution. Already implemented in numerous pilots, including the pharmaceutical RFID supply chain tests managed by Accenture, this standalone solution operates independently of other applications and can be implemented in conjunction with any existing third party, custom or legacy supply chain systems. EPC Manager is part of Manhattan Associates Integration Platform for RFID, which eases integration across multiple platforms, applications, data formats and communication protocols.

With EPC Manager, companies can quickly and efficiently deploy RFID to capture and track unique EPC data and meet compliance requirements. Manhattan Associates developed this solution to enable companies with established supply chain applications to implement an RFID solution without having to replace entire systems. Because Manhattan Associates EPC Manager can be integrated with any existing application, it allows companies to meet immediate needs while implementing a solution that can scale with their business.

Manhattan Associates EPC Manager has been utilised in a variety of implementations, including one being conducted in the pharmaceutical industry. This study is testing the business value of RFID among pharmaceutical manufacturers, distributors and retailers. Manhattan Associates EPC Manager, Warehouse Management and Trading Partner Management solutions are serving as the technology platform for the Accenture-managed pilot. The programme has tested how RFID technology can improve security, enhance the speed and efficiency of recalls, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, increase consumer safety and boost order accuracy and labour productivity.

Our EPC Manager alleviates one of the key concerns in the marketplacehow to meet RFID compliance mandates without having to replace existing systems, said Eddie Capel, vice president of product management at Manhattan Associates. The fact that EPC Manager can operate independently of other systems makes it a scalable, low cost, low risk solution. Its benefits have been proven within the pharmaceutical industry, where we have seen everyone from manufacturers to retailers benefit from shared information and source to consumption visibility.

Together with Integration Manager, EPC Manager makes up Manhattan Associates Integration Platform for RFID, a key component in the companys award-winning RFID in a Box solution. RFID in a Box eases RFID deployment and reduces implementation time through a variety of software, middleware, hardware, tags, antenna, readers and services offerings.
